Variety Positioning

• RGT Grouse is the next in line of the Genserus BYDV-resistant varieties from RAGT.

• The genetic trait is attracting interest from growers looking to move away from using any foliar insecticides.

• It has relatively low yields in Agrii trials (98% treated, 68% untreated) and average grain quality (76.7 kg/hl).

• Straw is reasonably tall (91 cm) and weak (6 treated, 6 untreated) so a robust pgr programme needed.

• Indifferent disease scores with mildew (4) yellow rust (4), brown rust (3) but Septoria is reasonable (6.2).

• Resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
