Variety Positioning

• Oxford shares exactly the same parents as Champion with similar high yields (104% treated, 88% untreated) in official trials but an improved specific weight (76.1 kg/hl, AHDB) and stiffer straw. 

• Best grown in the East and West regions on heavy soil and drilled before the end of October. Average height (86.4 cm) and stiffness (7) (6) and slightly later than Champion (+2) (+1). 

• Good set of disease scores with mildew (5.1), yellow rust (8.4) (8.5), Septoria tritici (6.6) (6.3) but weaker on brown rust (6) (4.9).

• Resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
