Variety Positioning

• SY Kingsbarn has become a very popular hybrid across the UK with high yields in Agrii trials over the past three years (103% treated, 77% untreated).

• It also has the lowest screening losses of any 6-row type in official trials and a high specific weight (70.2 kg/hl).

• Ideal for use on lower potential sites, lighter soils, situations where grass weeds are a problem and increasingly used for anaerobic
  digestion.

• Very stable performance across all regions and soil types. Best drilled from late September through to mid-October. Very competitive against grassweeds.

• Tall straw (116 cm untreated, 106 cm treated). Stem stiffness is on the low side (7 treated, 6 untreated) and it is still prone to lodging even after a robust PGR programme. It has a higher lodging risk than both SY Armadillo and Belfry.

• Medium maturity (0).

• Good disease resistance against mildew (7) (6), net blotch (5) (5), Rhynchosporium (7) (7) but weak against brown rust (5) (4).

• Resistant to barley yellow mosaic virus.
