pH Testing and Lime

R&T’s core specialism is correcting soil acidity through lime spreading. Depending on your location, this will be with screened limestone or chalk. 

We also offer a reliable method of pH testing. We visit your land and carry out a test on-site, mixing soil samples with a BDH indicator. Afterwards, you will be provided with a map of the areas deficient in lime. 

We can also test your soils for P, K, Mg and Nitrogen levels. 

Other Materials We Stock

R&T’s core business is correcting soil acidity through lime spreading. Depending on your location, this would be with screened limestone or chalk. However, we also offer a range of other materials, including:

• Magnesium limestone – perfect for magnesium deficient soils, and treating acidity 
• Granulated lime – ideal for growers to spread themselves
• Prilled lime – to treat areas where bulk lime is not practicable
• Gypsum – improves friability of soils, provides sulphur and calcium, reduces excess magnesium, and enhances skin finish in root crops
• Basic slag – a ready supply of phosphate, with a neutralising value equivalent to a tonne of lime. Also provides benefits beyond microelements
• Aggregate – suitable for driveways and hard standing areas, via a network of UK quarry supplies.
