Sustainability Manager Amy Watkins

Let's find out more about how we support you on a journey to sustainable and profitable farming.

Name: Tom Perrott
Job Title:
Crop Input Specialist - Fertiliser
Years in Agrii:
3
Previous roles:
Regional Fertiliser Coordinator, Farm Trader
Region: Newbury, Larkwhistle

Tell us about your role, what do you do?
I look after the day to day pricing of fertilser in my area for both my customers and teams, offer support in Trials coordination & Marketing, help with new developments such as the fert app for agronomists and am involved with collating technical data for presentation

How did you get started in your role?

Since I was very small, Britian's farm toys and agriculture featured heavily in my life. As soon as I could work I was outdoors, despite not doing an Agricultural related degree it didn’t take long to find my way. I have now been involved with Agriculture in a sales role for nearly 15 years, its started with Machinery sales for 4 years, 7 years farm trading elsewhere and the rest is history.

What do you love most about your job?

There is nothing better than working as a team to secure business and have a satisfied customer

Any advice for people looking to get started in the industry?
Never be afraid to talk to customers or potential employees/employers, you might be pleasantly surprised.

What is the biggest challenge you face in your role and why?

The hardest part is when the growing seasons, weather and the fertiliser markets all go in opposite directions. Its difficult to communicate the intricate balances without sounding like you’re pushing for pressure sales.

In one word or phrase, how would you describe being an employee of Agrii?

Team Work.

Fun Fact about yourself?
I’m slightly obsessed about Fat Bike Mountain biking.

Take us through a day in your life.
